What We Do

Teogatha Law is a virtual tax controversy firm that assists individuals, partnerships, and corporations who are involved in tax disputes with the Internal Revenue Service. The firm practices in the areas of penalty abatement, tax audit defense, administrative appeals of audit results, lien and levy removal, employee or contractor classification issues, and information reporting and withholding matters. Teogatha Law also provides advice regarding financial transactions and to accountants and tax preparers regarding the best method of handling tax compliance problems. In circumstances where the law is not definitive, the firm will assist clients by seeking a private letter ruling request from the Internal Revenue Service.

How We Work

Since Teogatha Law is a virtual firm, communication between clients (or potential clients) and the firm is accomplished via our secure online site, the telephone, and/or facsimile. The site uses secure socket layer ("SSL") encryption, which allows both taxpayers and attorneys to securely write messages and upload and download documents with each other. The encrypted messaging system ensures confidential communication and protects the attorney-client privilege. When a taxpayer receives a new message on the system, an e-mail is automatically generated and sent to the taxpayer notifying them that a message is waiting for them at Teogatha Law.

Why the Name Teogatha?

Teogatha is an old english term that literally means one-tenth. The term comes from the age old practice among congregants of some western religions of contributing one-tenth of their income to their respective temples. The word tithe also mean one tenth and is a slightly more modern term for teogatha. Therefore, in essence, teogatha is an old english term that connotes a form of taxation.

Legal Fees

Clients are often concerned that their legal fees will spiral out of control. Teogatha Law keeps its fees reasonable and will provide service on a pre-determined basis or at reduced costs from other attorneys. For matters that are novel or complex, the firm utilizes the billable hour as it is difficult to gauge the amount of time involved in resolving those dispute.

Who We Advocate For

Teogatha Law is proud to provide legal representation to U.S. and overseas taxpayers (excluding Canadian residents) throughout their tax controversy matters with the Internal Revenue Service.
